Designed by Josep Lluís Xuclà, the TR Moon wall light is the ultimate expression of geometric elegance. This dual piece perfectly integrates a circular mirror surrounded by a sophisticated luminous halo, becoming the centre of attention and adding a sense of space to the most demanding interior design projects.
On a functional level, it emits an enveloping, shadow-free perimeter light, ideal for the washbasin area. It features an integrated dimmer to adjust light intensity, IP44 protection and an optional anti-fog system, ensuring perfect performance even during moments of maximum condensation.
Created by the prestigious architect Jean-Michel Wilmotte, the Focus Line IP 44 is an adjustable spotlight with a distinctly architectural aesthetic. Its machined aluminium body and matte anodised details bring an elegant industrial and contemporary character to bathroom design.

The fundamental difference lies in safety against humidity and water. Bathroom luminaires are specifically designed and sealed to withstand condensation and potential splashes, which is classified through the IP protection rating.
While a living room or bedroom lamp usually has an IP20 rating (no special protection against liquids), a bathroom lamp requires, by regulation and for safety reasons, at least an IP44 rating (protection against water splashes from all directions). Furthermore, high-quality bathroom luminaires, such as those from Insolit, use materials and mechanical finishes designed to resist long-term corrosion without sacrificing design.
There is a common misconception that bathrooms need very cold light (5000K or more) to appear cleaner or more hygienic, but the reality is that this type of light is too clinical, artificial and unwelcoming.
Neutral light (around 4000K) is far more advisable if you are looking for purely functional lighting, as it does not alter visual perception. However, in contemporary interior design the trend is to use warm light (2700K – 3000K) for general lighting. This transforms the bathroom into a relaxing wellness space (spa effect). The ideal approach is to combine: warm light for the general ambiance and neutral or dimmable light for specific tasks.
For the washbasin and mirror area, the golden rule is to look for frontal, even lighting that does not create shadows.
The most common mistake: Placing a single spotlight on the ceiling directly above the head. This projects harsh shadows under the eyes, nose and neck, making tasks such as applying make-up or shaving extremely difficult.
The ideal solution: Integrating the light into the perimeter of the mirror itself (exactly as the TR Moon model does) or placing wall lights on both sides of the face, at eye level. Furthermore, it is vital to choose light sources with a high Colour Rendering Index (CRI > 90) to ensure that skin tones look completely natural.
